Unique find today

Stream Conditions

Even small head water streams running way high and dirty.

Not good fishing for 3 days minimum and then winter will return about that time.

Aaron Wachtendonk and Jason Olson Trip Report Richland County

11 browns and 1 brookie. The biggest was 16" female brown.

And later a couple bows.

All fish were in slow and deep water.

Old Superstition

I had a superstition for many years.

If I landed or lost a twenty inch fish I left the stream or quit fishing for the day.

I have decided to vanquish that nonsense last year.

I am looking forward to another 2 twenty inch outing soon.

Assessed Weather Report

Wednesday the snow should all be gone and the run off cleared.

Wednesday looks like big trout weather.

Friday Trip Report

Wanted to get out while streams were still in good shape.

Hard to find a fishing partner on a weekday.

Was fishing close to the road today because I was flying solo.  The wife gets nervous when I go alone and wants me close to the vehicle.

The sun got high quickly and the bigger trout got lock jaw.  I landed 22 browns with nothing over 14 inches.

I hit another stream that was really close and not far from the road and caught another 7 dinks.

Trout were in fast water today for the first time of the year.

I know the weather is good this weekend but I have been fishing during the week these days with my wife's car to avoid claim jumpers.
