Our Wisconsin Magazine "Unique Cafe"

I am one of Our Wisconsin Magazine's writers and eatery reviewers.

Our Wisconsin Magazine

My last place I reviewed was "The Unique Cafe"

Here are photos included in the review.

Here I come Wisconsin to your small Mom and Pop's restaurants to write an article.

I always call ahead and have the owners on site when I come.

Our Wisconsin Magazine "Dorf Haus"

About a year ago I approached the editor of Our Wisconsin Magazine to be a writer/reviewer of local eating places in Wisconsin.

I submitted my second article with photos to the editor.

If you follow my blog at all you know I am a foodie.

Head Scratcher

It makes me scratch my head at times when anglers are uber sensitive when they talk about handling fish. I try to get down to the root problem of why they do it.

I think it simply comes down to them making peace with themselves for tricking a trout to bite a sharp hook and possibly inflicting injury to said fish for entertainment purposes alone.

The net type injury hysteria is an extension of their penance paying.  A knotted net versus a ghost net is the next metamorphosis of their guilt coming to the surface.

They are even more conflicted when they have zero intentions of eating that precious resource they crow about on their soap boxes.

They soothe themselves and make peace with it by saying:  "I keep a couple now and then."  They really don't.

Dilemma

Every fall when the colors fade and trees lose their elaborate head gear I contemplate the upcoming winter.

As I get older and my aches and pains multiply I curse the cold and the long winters.

I sit in my living room and look out the window and think of warmer days and not so treacherous roads.

Not that many years ago I could see Florida as wintering home.

Early morning aches and pains in the winter are magnified.

Who am I kidding?

Once you are from Wisconsin nowhere else even exists.

Dilemma solved.
