The Trout Angler's Edge

January season has some hidden pitfalls.

Deep snow can hide holes that can injure knees and also cause the fat out of shape anglers to have endurance problems. Don't bite off more than you can chew.

Use a wading staff in January and February and don't fish alone.

Your cellphone should be in an inside pocket to stay warm and in a ziplock bag. Batteries like to drain quickly in the cold.

  1. Len, you're a warrior! Most people have a cheese hat on in January where you live, you have a full snow suit. I plan to fish this winter for trout too. I just want the feeling of being outdoors in conditions that most people would say.............Are you NUTS? LOL. I love it! Most enjoyable blog I read. Carry on.
